About Me

Living in Queens, New York has given Kristen the opportunity to experience the popular media location of New York City. She started out as a Studio Production Intern at Insider, Inc., and has been promoted twice to her current full-time position as Studio Operator. This role involves directing interview-style video shoots in the black-box, green screen and newsroom studios within a live television control room. Being a part of a variety of productions has given her a great amount of experience operating the control room and studio equipment, including the TriCaster, Yahama Audio Board, lighting, Canon C100 cameras, PTZ Robotic cameras, Blackmagic Design Video Routers and IFBs. These videos are posted on various social media platforms, and can also be found here. Kristen has also previously worked full-time for the Audio Visual Department as a Graduate Assistant at SHU. This opportunity helped Kristen enhance her

knowledge of the Information Technology field as well as her management skills overseeing the student workers.

Kristen spent her 3 years as an undergraduate working as a production intern all over the Southern Connecticut Coast. She started at NBCUniversal's The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show in Stamford, CT, which granted her the opportunity to shadow production assistants, witness behind-the-scenes of a television taping, and work with the audience department. She continued on to WTNH News 8 in New Haven, CT, where she shadowed the directors during the live broadcast of the morning news and CT Style from the control room, learned how to operate the robotic cameras, and observed how to broadcast on Ignite and AVID iNews. Finally, she was the Marketing and Social Media Intern for Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment in Bridgeport, CT, which gave her the chance to edit videos for the social media platforms of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Webster Bank Arena.

Kristen has been able to use the skills that she learned from her studies and internships and apply them to live events at Sacred Heart University and Insider, Inc. In the Fall 2018 season, she participated in the live production of the Sacred Heart University Division 1 Football games as an end zone camera operator. Also during her Master’s degree, Kristen served as the Director for Sacred Heart University’s TV News Magazine show called The Pulse Plus and as Technical Director for the 7th Annual SHU Media Exchange: WSHU: An Independent Voice and The 2018 Connecticut Republican Gubernatorial Debate.

Live events didn't end at Insider Inc. She was the Lead Camera Operator & Technical Director for Business Insider Today's Live Townhalls with 2020 Presidential Candidates Andrew Yang and Seth Moulton, and the 2020 Republican Primary Debate. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kristen became the production lead for all digital live events with Events Insider. These leadership positions have demonstrated her studio production skills, organization, and overall dedication to succeeding in the production industry.
